Continuing education seminar “Cybersecurity news and investigation game”

CERT.LV, in collaboration with LIKTA, is organizing a continuing education seminar Cybersecurity Current Affairs and Investigation Game , which will take place on March 25 at the University of Latvia Military Institute premises at Raina Boulevard 29, Riga.

The goal of this seminar is to promote the creation of a sustainable and decentralized training system, providing an opportunity for experts and others interested in cybersecurity to learn interactive tools and methods for further educating their chosen target audience.

The seminar will include a discussion of current cybersecurity issues, looking at the most common types of cyberattacks and the methods used by attackers, as well as tools to protect yourself, playing the cyber investigation game “Find the Hacker” and preparing seminar participants to lead the game for their chosen target audience (each seminar participant will have access to the materials used in the game in digital form).

The aim of the game “Find the Hacker” is to practically apply knowledge about phishing, unauthorized access, malware and ransomware, as well as disinformation in the work environment. Participants take on the role of cyber-detectives and interactively analyze the course of a cyberattack on an international company. One of the central tasks of the game is to identify the perpetrator responsible for the attack and its consequences, while simultaneously improving the participants’ understanding of essential cybersecurity concepts. To participate in the game, players do not need to have in-depth technical knowledge in the field of cybersecurity.
