The ALL DIGITAL Weeks 2024 Campaign Wraps Up successfully
The ALL DIGITAL Weeks 2024 campaign, held from May 13-31, has concluded with remarkable success, reaching over 50,000 participants across Europe. Supported by the European Commission, Microsoft, and Certiport, the campaign spanned three weeks of local and international events aimed at enhancing digital skills, education, and inclusivity.
A Spotlight on Digital Democracy and AI
This year’s campaign placed significant focus on digital democracy, civic participation, and the social responsibilities surrounding the digital landscape, especially in relation to European elections taking place on the 9th of June. Participants delved into the challenges of disinformation and the importance of fostering digital literacy. The role of Artificial Intelligence (AI) also took center stage, with discussions on how it is transforming the ways we work, learn, and interact, while highlighting the need for promoting opportunities and mitigating risks.
International Launch Event – Setting the Tone for the Weeks Ahead
The international launch event took place on May 14 at the Microsoft Technology Center in Brussels. Key speakers like Georgi Dimitrov, Head of Unit “Digital Education,” DG EAC, European Commission, Jeremy Rollison, Head of EU Policy, European Government Affairs, Microsoft and Elisa Gambardella, President, Lifelong Learning Platform emphasized the pressing need to bridge digital skill gaps. The event explored crucial topics such as AI, cybersecurity, and the impact of digital skills on employment, entrepreneurship, and social inclusion
Empowering Communities through Digital Inclusion
Throughout the campaign, regional and local approaches to digital inclusion were spotlighted at various conferences and workshops. In collaboration with Mediawijs, ALL DIGITAL held a joint conference that explored the challenges of digital inclusion and how local initiatives are playing a vital role in overcoming them. Participants from across Europe shared best practices, with special attention to those most vulnerable to digital exclusion.
Achievements and Looking Ahead to 2025
The campaign successfully promoted digital skills thanks to the support of 131 organizations in Europe, with national coordinators driving events and activities in their countries. Participants gained valuable insights into areas like digital skills for employment, cybersecurity, and sustainability. With the support of 22 national coordinators and 19 strategic partners, ALL DIGITAL Weeks 2024 has made a remarkable impact on thousands of individuals and organizations across Europe.
As the campaign wrapped up with an online closing event on June 19, participants and coordinators alike reflected on the immense progress made and the path forward. The ALL DIGITAL Weeks continue to serve as a vital platform for raising awareness and fostering digital competence across Europe, with plans already underway for the 2025 edition.
