
Live event “Reach, Address, Engage: From Effective Communication to Engagement in Learning”
On March 25, from 11:00 to 14:30, the Ministry of Smart Administration and Regional Development (MARAM) is organizing an in-person and live event “Reach, Address, Engage: From Effective Communication to Engagement in Learning”.
The event will discuss how to effectively communicate with different target groups (youth, adults, seniors, and people with special needs) and what communication approaches to use to reach different audiences.
Event program:
Theoretical part (in person + live broadcast on Facebook): 11.00 – 12.20
11.00 – 11.40 Elīna Šverna (communication consultant, head of public relations agency “Aged no Aged” / Jānis Berķis (creative director, head of “Mixd Group”)): “Effective communication approaches for reaching different audiences”.
11.40 – 12.00 Anna Andersone (Riga TechGirls): Experience story
12.00 – 12.20 Liesma Kalve (representative of the Latvian Pensioners’ Federation): “Sharing experiences: how to address, communicate and how do seniors perceive information?”
12.20 – 13.00 Break (coffee break)
Practical part (in person only): 13.00 – 14.30
13.00 – 14.30 Group work: “Implementation of communication activities for various target groups”.
The participants will be divided into several working groups to exchange ideas and develop recommendations and proposals on how to reach a specific target audience of residents, what communication methods or languages/channels are best to choose.
The target group of the event is state and local government institutions, NGOs, but the live broadcast will also be broadcast on Facebook ( on the VARAM and LIKTA profiles) and anyone who wishes will be able to listen to it. The Facebook event for the live broadcast is available here .
