In line with Goal 11 of the 2030 Agenda—making cities and human settlements inclusive, safe, resilient, and sustainable—Fondazione Mondo Digitale and Urban Vision are promoting Suburb View, a project that enhances urban spaces through youth contributions. Students, together with the educational community, take part in a collaborative workshop to create an artistic piece that celebrates a place of special significance to their school community. The initiative is led by digital artists, Urban Vision employees through skills-based volunteering, and FMD trainers.
On April 3, 2025, the final event of the Suburb View project will take place in Milan, showcasing the artistic prototype created by students from the Galilei-Luxemburg Institute in collaboration with digital artist Umberto Nicoletti. Inspired by Billboard Art, the artwork reflects on the potential of urban space as a medium for social and cultural expression.
Through a hands-on workshop, students explored the power of visual and textual language, transforming a city LED billboard into an ephemeral and participatory art surface. The project is part of Milano ArtWeek, highlighting the role of public art as a tool for dialogue and change.
