SMARTageCARE – a New Paradigm of Healthy and Active Ageing in Europe

14 14 people viewed this event.

The fast changes and technological advances in society resulting from this digital transformation impose several challenges related to access to technologies, usability and adaptation, and cyber security. Preparing the population to actively participate in this new structure of society is also a challenge – especially if we consider seniors and older adults.

In Europe, it is estimated that by 2050 there will be 150 million older adults (+50 million compared to 2019), of which 60% will be between 75 and 84 years of age. Thus, the need to find an effective way to enable them to actively participate in modern society is crucial.

The project SMARTageCARE intends to build the pillars of a new paradigm of healthy and active ageing in Europe “Smart Ageing”, promoting the European Union as a world reference in terms of the digital economy and society for the older population.

These goals will be developed through three key actions:

–        Smart Ageing Ecosystem comprises an Ambassadors’ Network, a Training Program, an Advisory Board, and a Strategic Plan.

–        Smart Ageing Toolkit comprises an Educational Handbook/Box and a Digital Platform.

–        Smart Ageing Pilot Campaign comprises a Study of Usability, a Study of Impact, and Recommendations.

Join us in this webinar as we get to know the newly developed Ambassadors’ network and Advisory Board, and exchange valuable insights on how to promote the access of older people in the digital economy and society, also looking at Health and Care, and Citizenship.
