Recognizing and Combating Gendered Disinformation in Cyberspace
Τhe training event is part of the implementation of the “GenderED-Coalition” European project, with DAISSy-HOU as the Greek partner. The event is conducted in Greek and aims to empower professionals in Media and Information Literacy (MIL) to address gendered disinformation. It targets educators, students, researchers, journalists, media professionals, activists, content creators, and influencers. Key focus areas include intersectionality, critical thinking, online empathy, and gender equality advocacy in digital media. It incorporates lectures, interactive workshops, and participatory sessions, enabling participants to acquire practical skills and knowledge, to be able to recognize and address gender stereotypes and biases in the media and digital platforms.

The DAISSy group was founded in 2001 by highly skilled and motivated researchers pursuing research, innovation and adoption of the broader Ambient Intelligence vision. Its two branches (Research Unit 3 of Computer Technology Institute, Research Group at Hellenic Open University) are located at Patras (GR). DAISSy shares accumulated longtime R&I expertise in Ambient Intelligence, Pervasive Systems, Middleware, Service Oriented Architectures, Ontologies, Knowledge Extraction and Representation, Multi Agent Systems, Social Systems, Peer Learning Platforms, 3D Games, ICT in Education and Skills Definition and Profiling for ICT related Jobs. Since its establishment, the DAISSy group has participated in numerous national and European projects, in various frameworks (such as FP5, FP6, FP7, Lifelong Learning, Erasmus+, Horizon, AMIF, CERV, etc.) and has been an active member in networks such as EURASHE, EVBB, EADTU, ALL DIGITAL (being the National Coordinator of the ALL DIGITAL Weeks 2024 campaign) , etc.
